Good Value
The Government published league tables in January based on what is called Contextual Value Added (CVA). This measures GCSE results against the same students’ KS2 scores in order to compare similar schools to see who adds the most ‘value’ to their students. A value of 1000 is considered to be ‘average’ i.e the students achieve at GCSE in line with their KS2 scores.
Sutton Coldfield Grammar Sschool for Girls scored 1008.8
In the context of a girls’ grammar school this is outstanding as CVA is believed to favour areas of deprivation and boys. A girl has to achieve better grades at GCSE than a boy in order to be worth the same in value-added terms!
It is a tribute to the hard work of the girls and the support of your families but also to the commitment and work of the staff.

Congratulations, we have much to celebrate.
