Library

The Library was refurbished in 1997 and extended in 2004 to create a multi-media resource centre which is a popular and well used part of the school.

There are more than 18,000 books covering information to help with school work from Year 7 to Sixth Form: books to enhance hobbies and pastimes and fiction from classics to the most recent teen novels. In addition, the library has videos, c.d.'s and audio books available for loan and computers to access the Internet which are accessible throughout the day. Newspapers, journals and Information Files are also available for research in the library and magazines and comics to help pass a wet lunchtime.

The library actively promotes reading for pleasure by running Reading Schemes, providing book lists and holding Quizzes and other literary competitions throughout the year which are open to all year groups. There is a small Library Shop within the Library selling stationery etc and students may apply to work here or behind the Library counter during lunchtimes. Book Sales are also held from time to time.

The Library is primarily a place where students can study and make use of the large reference collection and to this end, students are asked to be quiet when using the facility.
